First the bad news.

Friday, August 5th will be unofficially my last day at SOE. I love the time I have spent at SOE, with EQ and with you guys here at EQMac. I wish I would have started helping out EQMac earlier. The community here is one I wish every game could have.

With that being said, future work and features on EQMac are up in the air for the time being. But don't lose hope. I'm giving the higher ups all the details and information they need to find another person who can help out when needed. I'll also still be in touch with people at SOE and this community as well.

So, how about some good news.

The free key page will go live either later this afternoon or tomorrow. Kyth will post the official link as soon as it goes live. Once it goes live, I need everyones help to have other sites update their links and contacts for playing EQMac. Primiarly so no more e-mails are sent to my work e-mail =). Once that is done, expect a decent number of new folks to jump into game. Greet them with open arms like you have with so many others.

And..a small side note.

If anyone here has any development experience with Mac and are extremely familiar with EQ and might be interested in helping whoever takes over EQMac, please send me an e-mail with your experiences. I'll be sure to gather this information so it can be passed along.

I think you know that, but everyone here has been very appreciative of the time and energy you've put towards the server. You're quite the hero.

You were the best thing to happen to EQMac. We all owe you our gratitude for everything you did for us, and I'm certain we are all sad to hear that you are leaving.

I wish you the best of luck in whatever the future holds for you, and I do hope that you won't be a stranger. Stop in, see how we're doing, let us know what you're up to. Even better, get a Mac at home, and join us!
