It works, I don't remember what you have to do, but I'm certain I've done it.

Thanks. I have the write-up somewhere. I did this in 1999 with a Eru Chanter. It was the first real quest I did in EQ. It was very long then, if done to not lose faction. It involved travel to Erudin, Surefall Glades, Rivervale, Ocean of tears, Tick Tock City, Western Karana, West Freeport and Oggok. All using different illusions. A DE could do it at level 4, all others at level 8, due to needing Alliance to cast on Klurg. All of this with no travel books or Translocators. It was a non-violent, interesting quest. :)

I did this PC side so many times with my High Elf enchanter that I could walk around most of Ogguk without illusion.

No need to do it on this server, as there are better items, and people are pretty generous.

It is good to know we can rely on the kindness of strangers, but well over sixty years ago, my momma did not call me "pig headed" for nothing. :)

I have started a female DE ( a guy needs all the faction he can get) Chanter named Steiner. I will report on the quest when she has finished. I view this as one of the better quest in EQ, along with the Redemption Quest (Burning Rapier) for a pre epic Rogue.

And thank you Aerili. That will cover the costs of the goods needed for the quest. :o

OK, first report. My memory is faulty. It is level 8 for DEs and 12 for all others. Silly Druid was not impressed with my naked Half Elf and would not give me the mineral.

I have started this so I will finish. Hate to be a quitter in a new place. :)

So if you see Steiner, do NOT expect her to be any kind of CC artist. My heart lies with the Rogues.

She finished this morning. By far the hardest part was getting to level 8 to get Alliance spell.

She became a pacifist the moment she turned 8 and will kill no more. She gave the stein to my little Wizbang and spent the leftover plat she had to buy a Combine Dagger for whichever of my Rogues becomes my main. I had forgotten the pain of raising a melee under these rules.

So the quest does work if wanted. There were a number of "Classic Server" people that talked about coming over here and this has the classic feel, even if made easier by the travel stones.

This brings back good memories. I had the Stein of Moggok as my primary hand item until I think level 50. You actually used to be able to make a bit of money selling them -- at one stage the quest was useful funding for my jewelcraft habit.

An excellent quest and always worth doing for enchanters. It really gets you out and about. (It was my introduction to the Ak'Anon zoo, which has to be one of the oddest ideas in Norrath.)

I had started this quest when I was new, and dear CIrce ended up providing me with my Stein of Moggok. I still have it and loan it out for disease resist gear.

There are a lot of really fun quests in Everquest (what a concept) and I find them worth doing even if the reward isn't uber.

Grats Steiner and welcome :)
