Does anyone know if they have tried to make a way to make small qt movies instead of a screen shot. It would be cool if you new you were going up agains a ton of giants or a dragon to get a little clip of the event instead of a screenshot. I'm putting this here cause I think it's something they should ad if the dont' have it already. What's everyone else think?

snapz pro can take movies, but you would get really bad lag after a minute or so, unless you have that 8GB of ram g5s can hold. guess it wouldnt be too hard, question is will it record right or show up black.

Get a Mac with a USB A/V device that has input and output. ( They are out there, I have one at work, I forgot the brand though ) and hook it up to a VCR.

Record the movie on your VCR

Play it back to the Mac and record it into iMovie.

Edit and save your EQ movie

Okay, this is a movie from a guild called Conquest. These people were at the top of the game at the time this was made.

The zone is called Sleeper's Tomb. It's a keyed entry. It's the globe you see spinning in Eastern Wastes. It was the top of the game at the time this was filmed. Check out the old UI.

Someone please d/l this and make a QT movie out of it. Don't link this to everyone, I don't want to max my ISP out.

THAT MOVIE ROCKS. btw boo me all you want, but get windows media player to watch it if you dont have it. ill look for a converter. it would be so fun to do the sleeper, who cares if you cant win, ah well even if the server had the people to do it nobody would. uber items from warders, theres always uber items, fighting the biggest badass and getting smeared all over the ground, that only happens once per server.


btw if sony had that on their site for mac section thered be tons more people on


oh yeah there were some things i wanted to note, that people said were and werent in game, first off about graphics somebody said something along the lines of when youre on a raid youll be pointed to the ground because the lag would be too bad, well he was using 4th or 5th camera view just fine. also, for grouping its common sense to HAVE to have more than one chat window for combat chat and all, hes using one. id like to hear what these people who said that stuff has to say about this movie, cause the guy didnt seem to have much problems.


ok snapz works, just not very well, it is really slow capturing and falls behidn on the frame rate (as usual for movie mode), it works just not well. this being on a quicksilver dual ghz, gig of ram. on a g5 it might be very smooth.

Couple of other things to note...

1) Those folks were using the old default UI with no customizability we enjoy today. This was base EQ.

2) His screen is probably 800x600.

3) He was using old world models since there were no new world models.

4) Ha had a spanking good video card for the day. Probably 32 mb. That's why he could see spells and still move.

5) ST only had the working raid in it. No one else is really there so it's a low lag zone to begin with.

6) At the end you see them fight the 4 warders (leaving one alive mind you) and you see Kerafyrm in the middle.

7) Don't wake the Sleeper if he is still asleep. It's not worth it.

Rider, have you tried that using the low screen size? 800x600?

800 600 still desyncs, mostly its capture lag, nothing can capture fast enough, and you get the bottom part of the picture falling behind. i went to 800X600 and it was better, but instead of 2 desynced halves, there were desynced strips. 640X480 might do the trick, or create even more scan desyncs.

as far as all that, from what i read, conquest used an exploit to kill a warder aand the guild was disbanded from it. i thought thats what this video was of was them getting to the sleeper. what are the blue things though. (ed: okay i guess they are sentries)

Conquest was disbanded because they used a particular way of pulling the warders that Sony didn't like.

Amusingly enough, it's the exact same way people pull the Dain, and still do. But for some reason Sony decided to disband Conquest for doing it in Sleeper's Tomb.

DUH i go to a schoo lwith VP, i can just take it in on a cd with WMP, run it out to a tape or something, then import it as mpeg. ill ask around to see how i could do this. might have to reserve time in one of the studios. you can enlarge it without losing much quality cant you?

Not a lot of quality there to begin with...

I do believe they piped to a VCR then used the capture card to get the digitization.

I think any machine will lag out since it's trying to do 2 functions at once that memory intensive.

I'd pipe it out to VCR then import. That way if you lose a frame or 2 here and there you can always go back and get them again.

i dont have a way to output to vcr, come to think of it i dont have a vcr, but i can do it at school. ill look into doing it. ive been through audio class, so they should give me access to something useful. i mean theres got to be SOMETHING to use right.
