I know that if your wanting to get somewhere fast u either can be teleported by an NPC or player in EQ(that has the ability) but what if u don't have a clue where the NPC telies are for each city etc why aren't we able to just travel where we want by clicking an option on a toolbar that list the different zones for each city instead of having to find a teleport NPC etc or we could type a command in game to the zone in whatever city we want to go it would just be easier and is just a thought I had.....

I know that with my lev 7 Ro warrior it is a pain to travel by foot or with any character for that matter unless u have the hook up of horses or teleport abilities

Does anyone agree with me?

First, there are no NPC teleporters. Any reference to them are specifically referring to the PC servers when porting spells became broken.
Second, visit http://www.eqatlas.com and learn the connecting zones and PoK books to get you there.
Third, there really isn't any reason a levl 7 would need to go 1 or 2 zones away from PoK or their home city.

This is why there is no penalty for dying below level 10. You have the ability to explore zones and test your limits without the risk of losing experience or having to retrieve your corpse. Use eqatlas to learn how to get from point A to point B without having to wait for a Wiz or Druid to port your lazy butt all over Norrath

to follow through with this idea would destroy the entire adventure aspect of the game.

I was thinking that when I posted this so really this idea would simply ruin the adventure in the game so it probably isn't the best idea and I have used the EQ maps there very easy in fact. What is the point of just being somewhere in a split second when you can risk having to fight with your party etc and have more fun just getting where you want to go :D

That and you'd have all the old farts like Rezz griping that they had to run everywhere when they started.

Uphill both ways.

In the snow.

Muttering strange phrases about shattered emeralds and the dark cloak of something-something. I don't think it exists.

They DO!

/fart

Used to have to take a boat from BB to Freeport, never mind the travel time of the FV boat.

PoK spoiled a lot of people. Cry me a river. :D

There are several quests that have an irritating amount of running around to do. I'm thinking of, for instance, the gem inlaid gauntlets and the Stein of Moggok. I am in awe of people who completed those quests pre-PoK.

Neat, we could create a button for every place in the game, hit the button, and be there. Maybe add a "kill mobs now" button, then write a macro, to just move you everywhere and kill all the mobs for you. You could go on vacation and come home and there would be a big flag on your screen saying "You won Everquest!"

Then again maybe not.

I love Gate on my Shaman but would hate a button to just zip wherever built into the game.

From experience with other games it just ruins the fun/point.

Casters who have Gate etc are then short-changed and when I got Oblivion on my 360 and found they had put in a 'Travel' option I found it just meant you no longer explore the map like you used to.

I've run around like headless chicken on Inco (granted at lvl 6) in FoB looking for that damn book and ended up getting back to PoK after a mob killed me.

Sure I could have checked eqatlas but at that level I thought I'd try and find it myself .. obviously failed there.

I can see why some higher lvl's may want it but then they chose a class that sacrificed such options as Gate for better options elsewhere.

By the way if you hear a sk or bard swearing profoundly it may be me looking for the book ;-) Even with the eq atlas printouts I can get lost .. what can I say .. it's a gift

I'm afraid they already did this with the port stones in PoK and to a lesser extent, the Nexus spires. They may as well add in NPC's that send you to any zone on command, unfortunately they no longer update the Mac server unless it's a severe problem that prevents the server from functioning correctly so if they did do it, it would only go live on the PC servers.
