Evil doesn't complete memberships. They're too busy being bad.

Meez, have you thought about hanging out with the Orc camp in the Misty Thicket? They're pretty evil. I don't know if you'll look so good in yellow though.

If you do decide to chill with the orcs don't keep too much cash on ya. I tend to use those bad boys to work on my pickpocket skills. Hate to accidentally steal all your money.

Still can't figure the one where you pickpocket a worn great staff or brick of ore and they don't notice. I must be getting good.

You can climb over the wall ... go up one of the ramps, not near guards, and then jump. It will hurt a bit.

Getting back is a bigger problem though.

If you kill orcs in freeport or the commonlands, that will help you get in good with the misty thicket guards. (The faction to look for is "guardians of the vale).

I suggest focussing on orcs for awhile.

A long while. not the sort of thing you can do in a few hours, so be prepared for at least one trip back via port or invisilibity/camoflage.

I figured if I was going to be Evil, I might as well go all out. None of this "I'm an evil character, but everyone tolerates me" junk. I want to work for it. KOS all the way, baby! Even my own trainers barely tolerate me. Necromancers scowl at me, for Cazic Thule's Sake!

I'm only soft and cuddly when I'm dressed in cat fur.

That is definitely a choice too!

It means you can gleefuly kill hapless citizens, can slaughter the leatherfoots in Nektulos, and the elves there too. And the farmers in the karanas, and the fisherfolk all over the place. Some of these have very good loot. (Fishbone earrings spring to mind).

For an Iksar, you have four (four!) newbie zones, that graduate gently as you move away from Cabilis, so you need never leave at all till 30 or so.

And of course you can trade in PoK as well as Cabilis, even if nowhere else. (Hmm. How do they feel about you in the Overthere outpost, or Thurgadin, or Shar Val?). I think it is wise to keep faction with at least one town, your hometown being a good choice.

For me, I was never truely evil, just morally ambiguous. My own guards and most of the guilds started out looking at me dubiously. (It was the choice of religion, coupled with roguishness in general).

But anyway ... if you are an evil race that wants to be able to roam in Misty, the first thing to do is kill orcs. Orc pawns in West Freeport will do, but will be hundreds, maybe thousands of them. (Agnostics will have an easier time of it).

And even after you've gotten cosy with the guards, you'll have to watch out for Ella (who is on the druid faction) and Blixkin (who is on the merchant faction). But there are ways of dealing with them, too.

I'm sure the answer to this is immediately available in some PDF file or the boxtop to the game or something, but:

What makes a character evil? Is it the races that are evil, or races AND certain classes, or a combination of both? Do deities come into play anywhere in the equation?

For example, I'm a Human Rogue, and I worship Bristlebane. Now, nowhere in my creation of the character did I see anything that would peg me as "evil" -- maybe a little Chaotic, but Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral, at worst -- and I am KoS with certain evil NPCs.

If I had been a Dark Elf, would I automatically have been evil?

Can I create a Human Warrior and, through the selection of a specific deity, make that warrior "evil"?

And -- not to turn this into a rant or anything -- what's the point of being "evil" unless you're going to play evil?

Thanks for the explanation.
