Well, I am almost ready to set up EQmac, but after reading through these forums for the past few days I feel that I am in WAY over my head. I am looking for a guild that will take me in from day one, and will teach me the basics of the game so that I am not completely lost.

What time of day do you anticipate playing? Some guilds, particularly those in Europe and Asia, play in different time periods than those in the U.S.

The Frozen Poets of Velious would be glad to have you in our guild. Our players are knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help you learn everything you can about the game. Plus, we're fun!

Look for myself, Saxxon, Crowley, Love, Uttama, Arguile or Trinity to invite you. Any other guild member will help you, but may not be able to invite you into the guild.

There is absolutely no shortage of people willing to show the ropes to new players. This server is extremelly helpful, to guild members or not.

When you get it, explore a bit, then send a tell (/tell [name] hey I was wondering if you could help show me the ropes for a bit?) or an ooc in your newbie zone (/ooc would anybody mind showing me the ropes) and I would be shocked if nobody offered help.

Glad to see ya coming to our little playground. Welcome!

With all due respect to my colleagues in other guilds, I would be wary of guilds who claim they would be "perfect" for you without even getting to know you first.

There are several guilds on Al'Kabor with different styles and different goals. It may behoove you in the long run to group with people from different guilds and learn about them a little before you decide which one you want to be in.

It might also help to play for a little while and get an idea for what kind of player you are.

and.. a guild can help you without tagging you. then when you feel you are catching up with them you could consider applying.

i already offered in PM to mentor you, if this still stands send me a message with when youll be on.

Gotta love a man who uses the word "behoove"!

My suggestion is quit the stupid game before you get addicted.

Once you get tired of trying to figure it out, type "/who all temerity"

That will give you a list of names - then take a name on there and type "/'name' (insert hello and othe text here)"

Most people will either help you or tell you who to send a tell to for help.

But i must insist Gnatzilla's adivice is best. Quit before it is too late.

The Shortbread Army is an excellent guild that really takes its time to show newbies the ropes and lets you advance slowly in the game, learning all aspects along the way. I always recommend the SBA to a low level new EQ player, they are excellent at their support at those levels.

Send a tell to Mudder, he is an excellent help, or just type
/who all guild10
and send a tell to anyone there.

Amazing guild for starting out. Alot of the other guilds do not have the support structure at the lower end, but all are willing to help you and give you advice, is the great thing about this server.

Thank you, Tharsel!

Rather than hunting down Mudder, who hasn't been on as regularly as has in the past, I'd suggest visiting our web site, www.shortbreadarmy.com (or just click the banner in my signature, below). There you'll find a copy of our guild charter, a roster of all our current members, a list of our officers, and a whole lot of other nonsense that will reveal the overall character of our guild: a fun-loving bunch that exists to help one another (and others) and keep the game what it's supposed to be in the first place...

...FUN!!!

PS: Don't call me Susan, no matter what they tell you.
