This was very fun! Thanks for organizing it, Kirrmarr! Too bad more of Sanctuary wasn't available. :(

So, when can we go again? :D

Hey all, sorry i missed the fun.

Here's some feedback from Evolution. Sorry, a lot of stuff we want to go better next time.

Everyone felt that the time to set up the raid was way too long. Experience and better planning I think will fix this.

There wasn't a list of loot that was to be claimed for The Frozen Poets.

Only the raid leader and the leader should be talking on the raid channel except in emergencies. And all talk should be kept to a minimum during the raid. This costs lives if not done right.

It was our understanding that this raid was for Sanctuary, The Frozen Poets Of Velious and Evolution. Where did all the other guilds come from? Especially the leader from Temerity. Raids aren't about xp but getting 12pp and NO xp after all that seemed a little slim even by raid standards.
We were a bit concerned.

And I'd also like to add that we are very happy to be included in this agreement and want these issues talked about and worked out. Not seen as any attack or dis. As that is certainly not my intent. Let us make the following raids even better.

The next raid is supposed to be led by Sanctuary on Sunday. Sanctuary? Any word on that? Gonna be able to get people there? Do we need to change the time?

With respect and service,
Bonham Peart

I am sure that someone can make an official reply to this, so don't consider this an offical reply. However, since I was there, you were not, and I'm now irritated:

Looting rules were posted.
Kirmarr in this thread wrote:
I will probably only have two looters assigned, one from each guild. They will most likely be melee classes that are not main tanks for their groups. IF we come across any NODROP items, I want them to let me know by linking it in a raidsay. Only the classes/races that can use it will be rolling for it.

The rest of the loot will most likely be sold, unless it is a rare item, in which case it will be rolled for. After the loot is sold, the money will be split between the two looters and then each looter can distribute to their guilds as their guild requires. The two looters should be willing to do the selling and splitting outside of the raid time

Well, it was my understanding that this raid was for Sanctuary and FPoV. And that a few others from other guilds might come along. And this raid wasn't about XP or loot, but about the fun of doing something together and learning about how a raid works in a relatively safe and familiar environment. Sorry if you weren't clued into that, but then you weren't part of the original group.

Kirrmarr, again in this thread wrote:
Any non guild members should ask for a fee up front or ask one or the other guild to be part of the cash distro. Any non guildie will be eligible for any rolled item, rare or NODROP.

Non guild members are characters that are not members of Sanctuary or The Frozen Poets of Velious.

I was disappointed that more Sanctuary didn't make it and rather surprised (as were others in FPoV from the comments) at how many Evolution showed up, but hey, we said fine if others came along, even if it felt like you block-rushed our raid.

Nogog, for example, asked in early on and no one had a problem with that (though he didnt make it in fact). At least one of the "other guild" people that was there was an alt of an FPoV member. And the Temerity person happens to be a close friend of a member and was asked to be there; as to her "leadership" role since she had raid experience and the rest of us had little or none she kindly offered to share her experience with us to try and help things go smoother.

As you pointed out, experience helps.

So does following the instructions of the raid leader, which was an issue. That can also lead to death and mayhem.

When Evolution organizes and runs a raid, then you can make the rules whatever you want and invite or deny whoever you want. If you have an issue with how we wish to organize things when we run one, then either discuss with the raid leader privately in advance or don't come.

Thank you for the Spirited Defense, Sukaisi. There is little I can add to what you pointed out.

I had very little time to set this up officially. I wasn't aware until you saw my post about what we were going to be doing that i was leading the radi until Tuesday/Wednesday. As far as setup for the raid, I thought it went extremely well. Very quickly. I felt it was even faster and better than the Sanctuary ogre raid I was part of. The slowest part I felt was getting everyone together. After that it went very well.

A few things I did not do intentionally: no buffing groups, no micromanagement within the groups. I felt that with the groups I setup, the buffers and healers and meleers knew their jobs and could work any issues with their individual group leaders. It's called delegation and I did what I could to make sure that everyone felt included.

Initially, I was a little surprised that the Temerity member, Celestia, wanted to come with us. She did clear a lot of things with me, which I am very grateful for and she did a very good job at holding back when she could probably have cleared Splitpaw by herself. Her advice was valuable to me and hopefully to others and she refrained from taking over the raid, when she easily could have.

One thing that was odd: when we were first forming up, the spires teleported a big group of us out even though none of us had crystals. that was odd and cost us some time.

Last comment on the time it took to get started: the last person we were waiting for was Love. Love happens to be my guild leader. I don't know anyone that would find any fault in waiting for your guild leader to make it to his guild's first raid. :-)

OK, next post will be more positive. I did promise a followup, just took me awhile to get to it.

Here is the post raid followup:

All in all the raid went well. We only had one death and that was prior to the start. (A guard killed Angel, an Iksar, while we were still getting everyone together) The dungeon run went well, noone fell off the cliff or got lost and we stayed together and made many kills.

Here is the list of Participants:

37 War Kirrmarr <FPOV> Group 1 (Group leader/Raid Leader)
36 Rog Sukaisi <FPOV> Group 1 (Looter)
32 Ran Gatley <FPOV> Group 2 (Group Leader)
30 Pal Landon <Evolution> Group 3 (Group Leader)
32 War Wisky <Evolution> Group 3 (Replacement Looter)
31 Wiz Seen <Evolution> Group 3
30 Dru Stezan <Evolution> Group 3
33 Nec Kollo <Evolution> Group 3
37 Rog Stubie <Evolution> Group 3 (Starting looter)
33 Nec Angel <Evolution> Group 1
40 Sha Uttama <FPOV> Group 1
40 Cle Trea <Sanctuary> Group 1
35 Sha Brunello <FPOV> Group 2
34 Nec Saxxon <FPOV> Group 2
47 Dru Arguile <FPOV> Group 2
?? Brd Love <FPOV> Group 1
33 Ran Aegadan <Evolution> Group 2
?? Cle Floann <??> Group 2

Solo (Either showed up late or wanted to be solo)
54 Nec Celestia <Temerity> (Super duper Raid Helper)
?? ??? Toracundac <??>
?? Rog Ville <Sanctuary>

We had only one special item drop. A gem that gave +1 int for the range slot and was useable by ALL/ALL. Only one person rolled for it, Landon, and he won it on a roll of 1-100 with a 4!

In mid raid, Stubie had to go, so Wisky became the new looter for Evolution. We only had two designated looters, both secondary melee characters (Rogues). After the raid, they did the dirty work of selling and splitting the cash. We had a pretty nice haul of cash and I was told it was a good idea to do it that way because Evolution has a guild bank and can put their money in there. Our money will most likely go to Love or Uttama to be used for the next contest prize.

I gathered that most everyone had a great time. I think setup was just under 1 hour, even with the accidental porting to Nexus and the single death. The trip was uneventful. Once we got past the doors it was a nonstop killfest until we took a break to med. Everyone did their part really well, lots of spell casting and meleers taunting and slicing away. I had a blast even though I did get disconnected at one point.

All in all, it was great raid. I wish more of Sanctuary's members had made it, but Evolution's group helped make the numbers raid worthy. Thank you to Landon for putting up with my sometimes mysterious answers. It's sometimes hard to reply to everyone when I am monitoring raidsay, groupchat, and three different sets of tells from group leaders and group members alike. But, it was fun and I can't wait for the next one.

Finally, if there is not going to be a joint guild raid this weekend, I will not be available for the 2 weekends after that due to a trip I will be taking. I have heard that Sanctuary has a guild only raid on Friday. Good luck on that guys!

Thank you to everyone for attending! Thank you to all my group leaders for running your groups well. Thank you to Celestia for all of the advice and the help. You are welcome to help me at any raids I run. I will be passing your suggestion that you be my guild's raid helper on to my guild.

Lastly, thank you to Trea for representing your guild and for Ville for being fashionably late, but still you made it and that's all that counts.
