Lord Nagafen Raid

When: Sunday Jan. 18th at 5 PM EST for 5:30 Zone in
Where: Lavastorm to prep and then Sol-B (Nagafen's Lair)
Raid Leaders: Darin and Mack
Level Range: 45+ (Lower level clerics with CH are also welcome)

Note: The raid will only happen if enough people have confirmed their attendance and Mack and I feel we have sufficient support. If you want to participate please let us know your class and level by leaving a message here, sending me a PM or sending me a tell in game.

WHAT YOU NEED
1. You should be between levels 45 and 52. Clerics as low as 39 (with complete heal) are also welcome as are 53+ though we need enough between levels 45 and 52 for the battle with Nagafen.
2. An unbuffed Magic Resistance of 50 and a Fire Resistance of 100. The higher the better. MR 100 and FR 150 recommended.
3. Bring two peridots: one for cleric and one for enchanter. These will be used for buffs.
4. An ALT camped in Nexus.
5. Patience :)

HOW TO GET THERE
1. Closest Druid portal: Lavastorm
2. Closest Wizard portal: SE corner of Nektulos Forest
3. Closest POK book: Nektulos Forest (Neriak Stone but you already knew that right)

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER
1. Naggy is a level 55 Dragon Warrior.
2. Naggy's most deadly weapon is his AE fire breath and AE fear spell. Wear as much MR/FR gear as possible; sacrifice all other statistics (yes, even AC) to get these as high as possible.
3. Check your resist gear. If you don't have much, consider acquiring: 2xEarring of Fire Reflection (AC1 FR5 ~26pp at Lavastorm gypsies), Gold Diamond Mask (FR10 CR10 MR3), Gold Hermatite Necklace (FR7), Gold Emerald Bracelet (AC4 FR6), Platinum Emerald Ring (AC4 FR10), Hand Woven Legging (AC8 FR10), Rune Boned Fork (MR10 CR10 FR10), and Crown of the Froglok King (AC12 CR20 FR20).
4. Many of the mobs in Solusek have high fire resist - including Nag, use cold based spells where possible for minimum resists.
5. In order to cast any spell on a dragon - YOU MUST BE WITHIN HIS MELEE RANGE.

PLAN
The plan for the previous attempt will be the baseline for this attempt to, though with some minor changes. If you are not familiar with raiding Nagafen and did not attend the last raid please refer to that post.

LOOT RULES
1. All drops will be rolled and all raid participants are eligible for appropriate items. If you win an item you will not be eligible to roll for another so we try to roll the best items first.
2. Although some items are all/all, some will be restricted to benefit the classes that could use the item the most - as opposed to being up for sale at the bazaar minutes after the fight ends :), e.g:
a. Cloak of Flames: Melees / Hybrids
b. Gauntlets of Firey Might: Monks

LEVEL 53+
1. If we have sufficient high level support I would like them to clear the path to Nagafen so that final battle prep can take place as early as possible. It is possible for a level 53+ player to directly assist in the fight, but it is moderated by getting expelled by Nag (other than buffs prior to a fight). If you get placed on his hate list, you will be expelled.
2. Casting a spell on Nag will cause you to get expelled. The spell may or may not land. Spells that cause waves of damage appear to work - subsequent to the first wave.
3. Healing people fighting Nag will result in an expulsion. The heal will generally take, lower level heals (non-CH) will sometimes allow you to cast more than one prior to expulsion.
4. Getting too close to Nag may result in an expulsion. The agro radius is quite large.
5. If we find ourselves fighting Nag and Magi Rokyl together the 53+ teams will take care of Magi.
6. If you can bind do so in the prep room. If you are expelled I assume that will clear agro and that you can gate back in and still help out.

Disclaimer: Much of the above is taken from http://www.rpgexpert.com/229.html

AFTER THE RAID
1. Rebind somewhere else. DO NOT FORGET TO DO THIS. DO IT ASAP.

Confirmed for the Raid
Darin 52 Paladin
Mack 52 Shaman
Puffpuff 50 Monk
Anasi 51 Druid
Sikkorak 51 Monk
Kris 49 Rogue
Lanbana 52 Paladin
Taargudd 51 Warrior
Utdaan 51 Ranger
Pazuzu 51 Mage
Deffen 52 Druid

MR 100 and fr 150 unbuffed are recommmended unless you are a masochist.

:(

tanks.. svm is VERY important, casters, svf is VERY important. both are important but that fire aoe tears casters up from their low HP, tanks can stand the aoe a little better but need to stay at naggy and not feared. in case someone is torn between a svm and svf piece..

I will be there as long as I can get the needed resist gear rounded up.

Do we have a baker and brewer lined up to sell Resist cakes and resist drinks?

If I get a elemental blanket and then camp out to nexus, Can i re-log the raid character every 10 min to keep from losing the summoned resist item?

Do we have a 51-52 Warrior lined up to be Main tank? If we do then we need to consider giving him all the best gear available (and make sure he has FR 150 and MR 100) so he has a real chance to hold aggro and stay alive. We need to do the same for the 2ed Tank.

We need at least 3 clerics all in a CH rotation on the MT. Spot healers should watch the MT as well incase of a CH failure. These 3 clerics also need Uber FR and MR of 150/100 respectivly. If the Clerics get cooked by the Breath weapon I think the Raid will fail. Other people may need to give the clerics and main and 2ed tank their resist gear for the good of the raid.

I suggest the MT talk to Gnatzilla about how best to open the fight. He will need to solo for a bit to get solid aggro before he calls in the Damage dealer melee and other tanks.

Casters may want to speak with Bastette and Aarlo about how best to time there nukes so as not to get aggro but still do the most damage.

Clerics may want to talk to Vector, Clarity, and Isios for advice on running a CH rotation.

Tank order must be worked out in advance and known to all Healers.

Do we have sub-leaders to help Darin and delegate some of the dutys Ie buff leader, etc..

Hee hee -- so good to see so much learning from last time!

I will be unable to attend (hopefully will be 54 by then), but please, clerics, if you have not been on a raid, GO ON ONE. If your guild does not have raids with CHeal chains, please PM me here and I will see if I can find one somewhere on the server to get you in on.

At the very least, contact a cleric over 50 with experience with CHeal in the days before the raid for some discussion points.

Really, all melees (not just the main tanks and clerics) need a FR and MR of 200 with buffs. Otherwise you will be cooked and feared and then summoned and killed.
Also, those who have a resistance discipline will need to remember to activate it at the moment they go into battle.

One thing that would help a lot is for people to know how to get in and out...get some friends and fight your way in and back out several times between now and Sunday, it's a twisty route and even with a map it sucks. Better to know the way by sight.

On Sunday what would also help is to have people in static positions keeping the path in and out clear from mobs. So if you think you're too low to be involved in the raid, or you're over 52 and want to help out, this would be an excellent way for you to take part and meet people. Trust me this is an important function.

If the route in is not kept clear, it's a huge ordeal getting in from Lavastorm, which people need to do when they die, which they will. I spent hours last time doing corpse runs pulling massive trains of gnolls through those tunnels, it'd be a lot nicer if people could just walk in from Lavastorm without having to die again trying to get in to their corpse. It gets exponentially messy.

Having Sol B exploratory missions every night between now and Sunday so people get familiar with the territory isn't a bad idea. Grab some friends and head out to Sol B. Get a map, get used to knowing which way to turn at each junction. Get used to how tough the gnolls are to kill, and how they swarm.
