Cool the resist part has been my main concern but if we can get through that with summonings of elemental blankets and such that would be great.

Lol just checked my resists my MR is 33 and my FR is only 25 i doubt i'll ever be able to get the FR up to 100 unbuffed.

Sounds like a very well thought out battle plan and I will do my best to make sure it is a success. I do have a full set of self crafted Enchanted Imbued armor which just happens to have both Magic Resist and Fire Resist plus good AC and stats giving me a decent mana pool, extra HP and Magic resist/Fire resist at around 80 each before buffs. I Will see if a few higher resist items from casters realm "resists list" can be obtained as well.

The buffing procedure appears to be very efficient with camping out to preserve their length. Level 49+ Paladins that have the 25% self haste buff might want to keep that ready to cast if the 16 min Enchanter haste wears off and it isn't prudent to leave the scene of battle to buff (It does cost 300 mana but lasts 30 min). Keeping the bards alive will be key as their resist songs are going to stop incredible damage from landing on us.

I will be using a "standard issue" weighty polearm to attack but would be willing to swing my Journeyman's Walking Stick with a Tash proc if that would benefit the raid. I could land a proc and then switch back to the heavy hitter refreshing it every 5 min or so as needed. This should give the casters an easier time to land spells including their own Tash and might reduce their agro since they are only refreshing a spell Nagi already has on them.

Count on the Shield of Norrath to attend in numbers and we will do whatever is necessary to make this a successfull raid. Great job Darin!

Couple things to keep in mind if this is your first raid.

Drawing agro:
Mellees: Try not to come to the event with a weapon that will draw attention to yourself unless you are assigned the Main Tanking duties. If the situation occurs where you do draw agro turn off attack and turn your back to the dragon until the main tank regains control. Low delay weapons such as Lamentation or proccing weapon such as Wazakashi of the frozen Sky are most likely to get you hit and cause the dragon to "Pong" between yourself and the Main tank if a Nuke hits at this time the caster will die. Remember the casters kill the dragon you are just meat puppets to keep them alive.

Casters: Be aware at all times that your nukes out damage anything the mellees can do so "overnuking" to early means you are out of the raid early.

Pet Classes: Tight leash this is a dungeon with crappy pathing ( what a shock ) keep them close for the fight.

SHUT UP: Noone wants your opinion during the raid speak before or after. During the raid the raid leader gives the orders. Turn off all your cute macros that declare the might of your one true god blah blah blah. In order for the raid to be effective a raid leader must give instructions if there is continuous chatter a key player may miss that instruction causing a wipe.

Raid Window: Create a seperate Chat window that has only the raid speak in it so you do not miss instructions.

Dealing with Dragon fear: Its temporary do not panic when you lose control. Upon regaining control get you bearings if you are in a situation where you will bring MoBs back to the raid sit down and die otherwise get back to the fight.

A quick question: Will the summoning of elemental blankets (for those of us who need them) need to take place after step 10 in the buffing phase, or is the camping step expected to be short enough that we won't lose no rents, and can take care of this ahead of time?

BTW, thanks, Darin, for organizing the raid and for the open invitation. I'm really looking forward to it.

okay once i get briz to make some resist gear. magic is 59 unbuffed, 79 with shielding. my other resist spell does 30 cold 30 fire, but it probably shares a slot with another better resist buff. sort that out if you can because it would be a good addition. im going to get a guildie to make me some fire gear soon.

which brings me to one point, can we use shielding? it gives like 20 svm, and shares a slot with a few hp/ac buffs. really i think staying around to fight is much more important than a couple hundred HP. btw shielding ALSO gives hp and ac, its not as much but it does give it.


okay i just saw #13 Fire Resist druid - circle of winter - group FR45 (150mana - 36min) or Wiz/Mag Elemental Resists

mine is 30 so i probably would use his since they dont probably stack.

well im 44 and a half, 45 is going to be EASY. just a couple hours in CC and im there man!
