Well I don't know about this "intermittent" bullshit. My friend did get the issue 1 hour and then the next hour he logged in, but I've literally been trying to login every couple of minutes for the last 3 hours, with hundreds and hundred of attempts and dozens of computer restarts with absolutely zero luck. So I don't see how this can possibly be "intermittent" when I've been trying for as long as my friend has and longer than that and he somehow got in but I haven't. Has anyone with this issue had luck getting in? I don't understand what we need to do, just keep freaking trying? Wasting our night away clicking "Play" because it's "intermittent"?

You should please get another update from Hobbart because there is no "finality" here with us just "eventually" getting in, for some of us it's simply IMPOSSIBLE to get in.

On topic: I'm still able to get in at will on the machine my wife uses. It seems the 'checking game' component is what triggers the error message. Her machines doesn't 'check' the game and logs in fine. Mine wants to do a 'check' and gets hit by the error.
Old client works fine on the box causing me trouble with the new client and getting the EULA error.

Do you know how to do a temporary fix then? If I uninstall and reinstall an older client? Is there any way to get in? I planned my Friday night to fuck around in EQ and not go drinking with friends in London... so I kinda don't wanna waste the one night I was supposed to spare my liver and play a video game that I've been too busy to play for weeks ><. I could be out drinking in London! :P So yeah I just wanna play, as it's 11PM in London so to late to go out instead... Just wanna play haha.

Just use the old client i guess until it's fixed? Seems to work fine. No need to uninstall the new client, it'll get fixed eventually.

"Eventually" can mean a long damn time, specially if this is only affecting a small amount of the playerbase... the "music" being broken is a HUGE deal to me, but that will be fixed "eventually"... meaning it could be months. So I kinda wanna know what to do... do I need to find the old client (can anyone link it) or what? Because all I wanna do is play, and if only a few of us are experiencing this random bullshit =/ issue than it might not be fixed for weeks and weeks. I just wanna play...

Anyone else in this thread that were having the issue please update the rest of us? Have you been able to log in? Has ANYONE that had the issue been able to log in? What is Hobart advising us? He is fixing it? Find another patcher? Find older client? Wait? What's the advice from up top?

Thanks guys.. just desperate to play.

I also get the error BEFORE clicking play if my launcher randomly decides to 'check' the game which it does randomly. It really seems to be the trigger for the EULA error.

if you search around the forums or search older "editions" of this forum on The Way Back Machine, you may be able to find a link to the old client. it's a 2GB download, i've had to DL it 2 or 3 times in the past year and a half, takes about 1.5-2 hours to download. if you can find it, i'd say start the download, grab a couple pints at one of the MILLIONS of london pubs, by the time you get back you should be able to play =)


edit: by "old client" i mean the PPC client that can be used on intel macs (via Rosetta i believe), and will still work until March 29th.

Ugh how IN THE WORLD is this only affecting some people? What is the connection? What's the common denominator? I'm using the latest Macbook Pro that has ever been released, with almost the most updated firmware/Apple updates available (got an update notice today, didn't do it)... what about everyone else? This is really, really debilitating and bullshit and I feel like I'm not gonna be able to play for ages if only 4-5 of us are experiencing this issue? Anyone else online do a check in /who and Alliance and Bazaar, do the numbers seem right? If so that means this issue is only plaguing the few very, very unfortunate of us and that means it might never be fixed. =( Damnit I should have NEVER logged out. I don't understand!?!? How can this only affect SOME of us!?!?!?!?

Please beg Hobbart whoever can contact him =( At least on advising us what *specifically* to do next? Older client? Does he know why this has randomly started popping up? what has he done to the server lately to cause it? etc.? Just if he can advise us on what officially to do... Please... I know if you can log in you must feel great and not care too much, but for those of us that can't, that have been waiting for weeks because we've been too busy with schoolwork and had this weekend finally open to play and level to catch up with friends, it's absolute torture...

Hmm... got a different error just a second ago, but then it went back to "Error 2". Well thanks for your effort Utdaan and just let us know whatever Hobart has to say. I'll just get some work done.

Edit: Don't bring FoH crap here please.

try downloading the client file a 2nd time and using the new instance?


and FYI, flaming hobart is the absolute last way to make friends on here, turn it down a notch.
