I have the thing all installed, I can login through the launcher using crossover, it lets me download and update, yet when I click play it goes to the next step which is a message talking about seizure warning of some sort with an okay text below that won't let me click through. Anyway to get through this? I'm soo close yet so far. I think the seizure warning is part of EQ, I am just unable to move past it by clicking.

I am on a macbook pro, intel based mac. I have read some stuff about having to edit the eqclient.ini file, but i don't appear to have anyway to view it. Every time I try to open it. the computer prompts me to choose a program to open it with, which I seemingly don't have.

Don't think you'll find too much help with that here sorry Jusk. We're mostly into playing on the Mac version of EQ not PC. That said, it just worked for me on Crossover 8.1 the last time I tried it.

Muses did you do any manual changes to you crossover bottles or install anything specific? Maybe a short detail of your process could help me.

Nothing at all I'm afraid. I installed and updated EQ via bootcamp and then just loaded it via Crossover. This was about a year ago though so an update may well have changed something.

Why are you bothering trying to emulate windows to run EQPC? Use Bootcamp, install a copy of windows and use the actual system hardware to run the game rather than a software translation. With a MBP, you should have incredible performance running EQPC on windows.

Utaan, I was using it because of the cost savings. Plus I don't have any windows operating systems laying around to install.

I agree. I like the mac version. Do not like the barren nature of the server. Having not played in six years. At low levels I can't do any content. Just choose a solo class and grind mobs for 60 + levels doesn't interest me.

It's holiday season, so a lot of people are offline. Give it a week or two we'll be somewhat less-barren :)

+1. winter tends to be a busier time of year too b/c its too cold to do stuff outside; by mid january the logged-in population will likely be double what it is right now.

also server generosity is a big deal, be friendly in alliance and people will generally do /who all "your toon name" cuz they are curious. low level mains are more apt to get donated items than low level PL'ed alts. bards, mages, necros and druids all solo pretty well too, and are good additions to groups/guilds/raids. good solo classes aren't necessarily bad options.
