On the PC servers, my shaman and cleric characters focus a great deal on being support rather than damage. I frequently re-mem various buffs for the whole group while we fight.

On Al'kabor - this is made very hard by two factors:

- mouse lag. It's really hard to me to clear the gems, find the new spell and mem while in a zone during combat. Mouse lag makes it take 5 times as long as on the PC servers.

- No spell sets. On the PC, I could click "load spell set 1" which might have a full set of my best buffs. Do that, cast the buffs and the reload combat spell set.

What do clerics and shaman do here? Just not keep buffs up as well in battles and raids?

Look down at the floor before opening your spellbook. Keep looking at the floor while rememming spells. That should speed things up for you.

lol, you can watch the wall or ceiling too if you prefer. :-) Spellsets are for Pansys, we just keep the needed buffs on gems while in battle (or let a alt do the dirty work).

Reduce your lag. use /viewport to resize windows and stop text boxes over lapping the graphic display. I have a hot key that shrinks it right down if Lag gets really bad for me.

Look at the floor or wall as others have said, share the buffing around, have 1 toon do all Virtue, someone else do the Kazads etc. Then you dont need to keep everything memmed.

As for spells sets, if you have never had em, you dont miss them. Get use to it, its a differant game here!

That hot key idea is a great suggestion. I've never thought of that. I assumed you have another hot key to pop it back to your normal settings. I'm going to have to look into setting that up.

You can also use the /mousespeed command to help your cursor move around a little better. It won't help if you are truly getting graphics lag, but it will help the issues some people have with the hardware mouse speed.

You can also not use the mouse as much. Right click a gem to clear it, /book ## to get to a page number, pickup spell with cursor as normal, then hit hotkey number to scribe to that spell slot that is in said hotkey. (Its fine if hotkey is just the gem slot dragged over or if its a '/cast 1' line. Either way)

Oh. My. God.

I did not know you could do this.

Juuuust, in case there is anyone that didn't know this also, you can move spells around in the book using right click.

For the love of god, keep your spell book organized by type and frequency of use.
I have
P1-2: all my main offensive damage/debuffs, with P1 having them in order of my main spell lineup
P3-4: all my buffs, all pet spells
P4-5: all undead spells, common utility spells

Note that when I say "all" it means the highest level spell in each line -- eclipsed spells go to the BACK of the book.

For a shaman, I can only imagine how bad it would be to not have stuff organized.

I cycle buffs, while keeping critical stuff memmed in case of disaster, rather than the total switchout of spellset.

I.e. Spell loadout looks like:
HOT
Complete Heal
Fast Heal
Buff 1/Nuke/Pacify/Atone
Buff 2/Root
DA
DB
Gate

(What? Does that betray a lack of confidence? ;-p )

Look, clearly the answer if you don't have enough spell gems for all the spells is simple:

Make more toons. They come with 8 spell gems each.
