I was thinking about starting another account...until I thought about starting two more accounts. I have a 6-month old MacBook Pro with 4GB of memory. Is it possible to run three instances of EQ Mac on this kind of laptop? I know I'd have to turn a lot of my settings down/off...I'm more curious about the Spaces aspect since only two spaces seem to be available. (I assume there would need to be a third to run three accounts?)

Also, is there anyone out there that can point me to a link (or outline it here) for a step-by-step guide on how to set up Spaces and EQ to run multiple instances? I made a copy of the whole EQ folder from its original location and put it on the desktop. Is that all I have to do after I set Spaces up or is there more to it than that?

Thanks in advance for your insight/help!

I run a macbook pro similar to yours and I 2box fine but 3 boxing I think would be pushing it, 4 boxing I assume the computer would blow up. But you need to disable the spaces transition animation. See: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10129&p=111010&hilit=spaces+animation#p111010

Also when starting your clients, make sure you start the new account by itself first and make the character. Otherwise you won't be able to make or create characters due to mouse errors. When opening one EQLP, start in whatever space you want, and enter into the game with a character, press whatever hotkey you have setup for switching spaces, most use cmd with arrows or cmd with 1234. Open 2nd copy of EQLP, do same thing, should work wonders. Make sure you're running window mode in both eqclient.ini files and also if you run in 16 bit on both desktop resolution and editing 2 commands in the client ini file you may see a boost in performance as I did. Good luck, feel free to message me in game or on here since I've been through the situation recently.

You can easily change the amount of spaces to set up in the System Preferences / Spaces.

If you encounter the mouse pointer bug in a situation that you can't /mci you can either:

command tab to the instance you want, then command tab through all open windows stopping on the one you want again. The double command tab seems to refocus the mouse.

you can also: tab to finder, run expose and then click in the instance you want with the mouse.
