I see a couple posts from a while ago. I really miss Everquest. It is the best game ever created, I only wish they never made Everquest 2, more people would still be in Everquest 1 IMO. I am going to be starting Everquest again tomorrow, and am more than thrilled. Is there any guild out there that would be willing to help me get my feet back on the ground? I am assuming most people are already at max level. It would be great to have some company, and help when offered. Also if there is a guild that will accept me, whcih class they would prefer I play =). Let me know.

The server is top heavy, yes, but there are a steady trickle of new players, and many people have many alts. You might have to do some searching for a group now and then but there is always experience to be found.

Get in game and check out the guilds. All are welcoming of any new players, regardless of class.

And, welcome to Alkabor!

w00t Very excited, I will be playing in the morning! Just waiting on the 2gb's worth of files. =) I am very excited to meet everyone.
I am considering the following classes

Cleric
Druid
Enchanter
Paladin
Shaman

Any input?

They're all great classes.

Clerics and Druids are always needed for healing and are raid making or breaking classes.

Shaman end game can be amazing soloers.

Paladins, if well played, can be a huge asset to raiding.

Enchanters overall though are the class most in need of a nerf on Al'kabor when it comes to soloing.

Just make sure you play something that keeps you logging on.

Yeah seriously just play what you're going to enjoy the most. Yes healers are as needed as they ever were but no guild is going to turn you down based on your class. Make sure you - /autojoin alliance - as that's the main chat channel on the server and peeps will be willing to help you out there until you find a guild.

Personally of the classes you listed I would say druid is the easiest to start out with. In the early levels you can DS tank and root/rot and then later on you can quad and charm kite. They're the fastest class to level to 65 if played right imo.
