Wizman should be able to serve you there - he has an optional download for the group window at least with percentages. My widescreen-only version with percentages is still under construction.

Krahl - I can see that you have completely different hardware and OS than Mistika who posted the exact same crash. We now know it is not hardware-related but I have absolutely no idea what might be causing it.

You are the 4th person to mention this crash but since there is no EQ-related error log generated I am totally at a loss.

Wizman posted a possible work-around on page 7 of this thread which I Have copied below - can you give it a try and see if it helps or not? Apologies if it takes a while for your LD characters to be logged out.

Interesting Results!

We never did find out why switching from some other custom UI to Po2 created an error, but simply switched to Default first, then to Po2 and all was good. After looking closely at my mods, I could find no change that I had made that would require additional changes from the instructions, so I logged on, switched to Default, logged off, made the changes according to your instructions, logged back on, switched back to WizMod and all is good.

This is somehow tied to something in the ini files, some sort of caching, something other than what's in the ui files themselves.

Maktub,

Have you tested your UI with every possible screen resolution?
I tried reading the system log file and it's pretty confusing.. but it does seem to imply there is some problem with drawing at certain coordinates.

OPTIONAL DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE - SPELL TIMERS

There is now a small Optional Download on the usual site which contains the following Spell Timers...

1. Single digit 0-9 second timer

Image

2. Double digit 1-60 second timer

Image

3. Dial "tick" timer counts 10 ticks with seconds - colour of tick changes round the ring

Image

Gauge-style Arista timers will have to wait while I figure out a way to offer good flexibility.

They all reuse the Bug Window. To get the window to appear, either type /bug or make a Social called “Timer” which contains the command /bug. The Bug Window will be closed each time you log in so just click your “Timer” social when you want the timer to appear. Click the close button to make it go away.

NOTE : the timer is ticking away quietly in the background all the time. There is no way to reset it or make it start at a given point or tie it to the casting of a spell. It is just an animated graphic cycling through its frames over and over at 1 second intervals regardless of what is going on in the game.

something else i was thinking about for a timer mod as an alternative to the arista thingies would be to have a similar timer to the clock guage but make it a sort of fake bar...

so you have 10 square blocks, aligned horizontally, every 6 seconds another block lights up to simulate a bar. above each block is a marker like you implemented for Zamiel.

is that more feasible memory and lag wise?

Providing it was small, yes. This is because you need to draw the entire strip of squares, both the areas that are lit and those that are dark. It would work in a very similar way to the arista bar but would have far fewer positions and instead of a slider would have the little buttons to click on. I don't have time to work on it at the moment but will put it on the back burner.

EDIT : Gah! I've started thinking about it now and already have a few different versions jostling to be tried out. Bad Hammie! Bad!

As a prototype I will keep to a strip of 10 of the same round "gems" I have used on the dial timer but I may adjust the colour. I don't want it looking too much like a strip of Opel Fruits or Wine Gums.

Something like this?

Image

Left ring counts seconds, bottom green row counts the ticks and top red row is the player marker row. Green ticks just keep advancing and the red one is the "something important happens here" mark. Bar is exactly the same height as all the other UI single row bars.

The only catch I can think of is that you have to do a teeny bit of math when the green pip is near the end of a row since the gauge doesn't wrap round like the dial one does.

Maktub, I like the work you are doing on timers. Since I play mutiple characters on one computer, I was wondering if each of them had the arista type timers would that create so much extra lag that it would somewhat defeats the powerof2 ui??

I never found a timer I liked in game so ending up buying a few kitchen type timers outside the game that I use, but they have an alarm that sounds at the end of the time which is helpful and annoying at the same time.

It shouldn't be too bad unless you were using multiple arista bars on each character. I have stripped out so much in the way of unnecessary textures that we should have quite some overhead for little things like the timers.

When I do get round to releasing the arista timers, I will have to consider how we can easily edit the basic duration of the timer so they are a little way off yet. Longer durations look a bit of a pain.

yeah thats cool, i don't know why, maybe the way my brain works, but horizontal makes more sense to me than dials, and it feels more compact.

i see your point at the wrap around but i only have to think back 2 ticks which is easy, glancing at a horizontal bar is much faster for my tiny brain though

also, i 100% apologise for sticking ideas in your head, sounds like you already have a million things on your plate and the work you have already done for the server is beyond measure

BUG REPORT : AA Window EQUI_AAWindow.xml

There is a minor positioning error in the AA Window which can easily be corrected. It will be pushed out with the next full release (v1.04) but if you want to fix it yourself now...

Search for...
Code:
   <Label item ="AAW_Timer">
      <ScreenID>Timer</ScreenID>
      <RelativePosition>true</RelativePosition>
      <Location>
         <X>383</X>
         <Y>327</Y>
      </Location>
      <Size>
         <CX>100</CX>
         <CY>14</CY>
      </Size>
      <TextColor>
            <R>51</R>
            <G>204</G>
            <B>51</B>
      </TextColor>
      <NoWrap>true</NoWrap>
      <AlignCenter>true</AlignCenter>
   </Label>

Replace with...
Code:
   <Label item ="AAW_Timer">
      <ScreenID>Timer</ScreenID>
      <RelativePosition>true</RelativePosition>
      <Location>
         <X>468</X>

         <CY>14</CY>
      </Size>
      <TextColor>
            <R>51</R>

BUG REPORT : Optional Vertical Buff Window with Buff Names EQUI_BuffWindow.xml

There is a mistake in the optional version of the buffs window which includes the buff names. The numbered boxes which are visible when there is no buff in a slot are using the wrong texture. They are using a 64x32px texture and scaling it to 32x32px. A fix for this file will be pushed in the next full release but if you want to fix it now for the performance gains, make the following change to the correct version of EQUI_BuffWindow.xml

Search for all FIFTEEN occurrences of...
Code:
      <Animation>A_BtnPressed</Animation>

Replace with...
Code:
      <Animation>A_SquareBtnPressed</Animation>
