Hi!! I've returned to EQ after years of being away..

Name is Satin Zefarian I'm currently a 23 mage

Looking for a guild that occasionally raids and or has a good spread of play times..

As normally I play EST 6am-9am M-Thu and anytime between noon-9am F-Sun

:)

Talk to someone in each guild, an officer if you can find them when you are on, and raid or group with members. Test drives will give you a better feel, I think you'll find that just about all the guilds have something to offer so I'm sure you'll find a home that fits.

Quick run down:

Temerity is the most advanced raiding guild on the server. They won't guild you until 55. They're deep into the EPs.

Destiny is next. We have raids Thursday evening Euro Time (Thursday afternoon in the US), Thursday evening US time (sometimes Wednesdays instead), and Saturday at noon Eastern time. Other raids happen in a more ad hoc manner. We're the most international guild with about half our members from North America, the other half spread throughout the world. Talk to Gnostica or Bolohan for more info.

Dark Conquest (DC) also raids -- they're not far behind Destiny in progression. JIan would be a good contact.

Pathfinders raids (although their force is smaller) and some Pathfinders also raid on DC open raids.

Sanctuary is a small guild, I don't believe they raid much.

Vintage is a progression guild -- very interesting. They currently are raiding Kunark and will be in Velious soon (this month?) Good people, and what they do at level 60 is quite impressive.

Spirits of Yamoto is a Japanese guild. They speak Japanese in guild chat. They raid with Destiny.

None of the guilds will have an abundance of lower level players -- we're all quite top heavy. Those of us with twinks tend to level them very quickly, so they don't stay low very long. So you'll want to see which guilds have people you like, which ones raid during times that are good for you. None of the guilds have gear or flagging requirements -- Temerity has their level 55 requirement, and that's it. Most of the guilds (I suspect) boot you if you're a dork.

Good rundown, Sinn. It's a pretty exciting time for all the raiding guilds on the server, with everyone cracking new content. Vintage is about to open Velious, the DC consortium just got VT on farm status and is tearing through PoP; Destiny's a few kills away from breaking into the EPs, and Tem is just starting to work on the Rathe. Lots of good options.

The great news is, as mentioned above, there is a pretty good fit for just about every type of play style and schedule. It is a good idea to reach out to folks from different guilds, get a feel for their population and schedule, ask questions, etc. The server at large is very friendly and community driven, so it's hard to go wrong no matter how you slice it. Good Fortune to you! /bow

Just a small elucidation of Sinn's helpful list with respect to the Pathfinders (my own guild). I'd say we epitomise the idea of a relaxed/casual/family guild: we raid twice a week and take our slow-but-steady progression seriously (currently doing Luclin, Velious and entry-level Planar stuff, or anything else that's fun and different), but we're all about enjoying each other's company (which is of course true of many other Al'Kabor guilds also).

DC offers open raids and three or four of our members enjoy taking the opportunity provided by their generosity, along with members of other guilds, but our focus is on our own community.

All the server's guilds are good guilds full of good people. Take your time and see what feels best. You can't go far wrong.

I never said Sanctuary never raids, I said I didn't think they raid much. I guess I could have been more specific and added the parts about being welcome on the DC open raids.

I don't think Waam was implying you did. He was clarifying that Sanctuary doesn't just not raid much, they never raid at all (as a guild).

Also keep in mind how much swearing and sexual innuendo you would like to get away with in guild chat. Some guilds are more sensitive/discourage this more than others. I would give you the run down of who is most tolerant of this sort of behavior to least, but you should be able to ascertain this yourself in alliance. That said, feel free to swear at people like Muess and Gnollbane as frequently as possible. Send unsolicited Male on Male cybertells to any member of Temerity not under /role or /anon.
