This is one of the reasons for this chart, to help you (generic "you") target the next big challenge for your guild. Getting sick of killing Lodi? Well, look at the chart and see that Kelorek'Dar, Wuoshi or Talendor might be a worthy challenge, but The Va'Dyn or Rhag1 are still a little ways out.

I have to admit a little skepticism here. Do guilds really need help chosing a target? After all, there are enough targets that guilds already have trouble setting priorities for raids.

There appears to be one main reason for this post, which is fine, for those who are into it. I am sure you do not expect everyone to share the same enthusiasm.

Yes.

Not from the list of targets you know you can do, but from the list of targets you might be able to do.

It's a nice (spoiler) guide to what you should be looking to do next.

Of course, there are other raid sorts of targets that aren't on there, particularly in PoP. But that's what trolling through zone mob lists is for =).

hahahahaha -- you're funny.

As for Tem, sure, keep calling us evil and eventually we'll start joking about it because we're sick of it, and if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

As for DC, hmmm... how about you actually talk to some of the people involved, or at least get more into the server gossip stream, before you assume that a large number of very good, nice, loyal people would up and leave their guild simply because Tem was, for a brief period of time, killing some of their targets? (Tem has not competed with DC for targets for a while now.)

Well thank heaven it isn't and that I didn't suggest that it was. But to say that there isn't an influence from competition in many ways in any group of people is just ignoring the obvious.

Your admonishment that i get more into gossip both misses and makes my point. I have assumed nothing, and the specific reason anybody leaves or stays is their own; I'm not the slightest bit interested. Because i'm not interested in idle gossip and interviewing people as to why they do things that are none of my business, I can have an outsiders perspective. From my perspective there is always some influence on a guild when intense competition is involved. To what degree each person is affected is relative, but ignoring that competition can have an effect on the attitudes of the members of a guild is ignoring human nature.

What's really important, and the point of my argument, is that the perceptions of those who are new to the game, thinking of joining, thinking of leaving, thinking of making a change, are important. Guild competition can have an effect on those pereptions, especially if the competion turns negative and changes for whatever personal reason ensue. Of course there are indvidual reasons for doing everything, that's not the point, the point is that competition at the guild level, leads to a broader attitude and perception on the server, and one that I believe is a negative.

When there is more than one mac server, when we have thousands of players, and many more choices in guilds, my attitude may very well be different, but for now I think guild competition affects everybody on the server some way and for the most part it's negative.

Sounds like Horde / Destiny might want to make an alliance, if they raid together, they they may choose to be listed that way as they kill harder stuff together. PM me if anyone gains a tier or wants to be listed as an alliance.

Oh, and, sticky this already, good grief.

Raziel....do you have any idea what an alliance is? It's NOT a merger, it's an agreement between the two (or more) guilds to do things together. Seems like you are doing that already so I don't see where your problem is with an alliance.

one vote to not sticky this thread. interesting conversation, but not vital information. What guilds can and cannot raid is interesting, but it's their business. but maybe I'm a loon, it's been said before.

I had some time to read though this finally. There is some real good discussion here. The way I see it is that the server has different style guilds for everyone, which is real good.

SoN has made it a policy to move up the tiers, but we're really not in a competition with anyone. Sure we look at DC since they are very close to our progress level and we like to see what the other guilds are doing, but it's never negative thing at all. I know I personally like to see new kills for every guild, from the Horde doing KDar to Temerity ripping apart the latest Tier 5 mob. My play is more raid and group oriented, but I don't want to raid 5 times a week like in Temerity so I found a guild that fits my playing style and it works out well. Would I have a blast going on a Temerity raid? Of course I would, Temerity has some absolutely amazing players in the guild, but I also feel it's way above my personal level. It's sort of like the level 35 player that wants to go on a level 55+ raid, sure you can go and probably be okay but it is way above your playing level. SoN is at the Perfect place for Brein. I fit right in the middle to maybe a level or 2 higher than our average raid force and I have not skipped over any mob progressions at all.

As far as guests on a raid, it really doesn't matter what the official policy is on that because SoN will always invite people so even if we become a Plane of Time guild we will never be "officially" past Tier 1  if you go by the "no out of guild guests invited" rule, and honestly we don't care.

I thought I would share that last night The Lollipop Guild defeated Lodizal ALONE with a raid of 11 people. (and I don't want to hear about those of you that solo him)

This is a huge accomplishment for the Lollies (as many of you know that have helped us with Lodi in the past).

Thanks, all, for your past help.

We are still a small guild but I think we are making huge progress.

To the Guild!

It is a good accomplishment, congrats.

In addition, yes, it is helpful to see what mob to hit next and what are of similar difficulty, and that makes this thread very useful.

Oh- I also think the chart is very helpful for guilds like ours that cannot just pick a target and kill it. It gives us an opportunity to see if we are on the right track- or on ANY track! :D

Thanks for making it.

That is really good, I remember when most guilds started taking Lodi we'd always bring 20+ people. To do it with 11 is real good.

Way to go Lollies! You guys rock! :D

Raz speaks for himself only. The fact is we already have an informal alliance with the Horde and have raided together on many occasions.
