I am trying to bring this topic up as frequently as possible on all of the Mac EQ boards and sites I can find. So, I bring it up here now, for everyone to chime in on.

I know our server is relatively new in the grand scheme of things, but it does appear to be fast moving. And, I think our number will grow in a short amount of time. Given that everyone is scrambling (from what I've seen) to form or join a guild... it might be good, at these early stages, to develop a COUNCIL OF GUILDS.

An informal/formal body of Guild leaders who can sit down and thrash out some general rules for raiding etiquette, inter-guild disputes, etc. I can recall a few server onwhich I have played where such a body was overlooked and essentially all hell broke lose in mid and upper level raiding!

Just a thought...

Good idea! I wonder how workable it is, though? It would be cool if it was seen through.

Lol, I can see it working, though. The Pathfinders, a diverse body from all over Norrath, The Horde, a bunch of barbarians hulking around. .

I'd continue that thought, but I don't really know anything about the other guilds. Dark conquest [they already had a .com, lol], temerity [seems like everyone is 30+ in there], and destiny..

Hey all,

Don't Forget my Guild: "The Darkwood Society" we are a slowly growing mostly newbie GUild, out to mostly just Have fun. As the highest member in guild is lvl 24, we are not a PLing Guild. Mostly we are all about enjoying the game as much as we can together, we will eventually be going out in search of better gear and zones. For any out there in search of a guild that is laid back, not demanding and willing to deal with those busy in RL gamers out there, we are probably the best bet for you to join.

IM game for a Council of the guilds, possible business dealings for trade skills and such. I am all for it.

It may seem discordant to think about, but the idea of a guild counciil is very workable!

As our society grows, I think the importancce of such a tribunal will become more and more important. I hope the guild leaders who read these posts don't gloss over the import of what I am trying to get across!

I'd definitely have to say so...

Of course... I don't think there are enough players with toons at a high enough level to really make this an issue right now... but, with fortune, some day it will be!

If you guys do decide on a place to have a council message board please let me know. I am the guild leader of Dark Conquest at http://www.darkconquest.com

I think that we need to have this foundation for issues that may arise quickly so that we know what to do when something does happen instead of having to use hindsight to figure out what we 'should' have done.

I think that if we are to have a Guild Council we should meet in the Nexus on Friday Sept. 19th at say what 1030 PST. I know who most of the guild leaders and officers are i have spoken with a few of you via tells etc.

Personally i think that we will all benefit from Said council. I know that i am having a little trouble getting my guild off its feet and maybe if a few of the other guilkd leaders are having similar problems the guild leader who have their guild up on there feet and running can help us to do the same. Please Email me with your take on the date i suggested above.

My Main Character is Kaarina Cos (formaly Xanibus Fuzzyfeet)
Email me at this email : kaarina@darkwoodsociety.com or darkwood_society@yahoo.com if that doesnt work.

I look forward to getting this council together.

Sounds great.
Obviously we are a newbie guild too, but we will be there.

I have been on servers where a council works, and I have been on servers where it is a disaster. Personally, I would support a open forum for communication between guilds as long as it does not try to do the following:

Do not set up rotations for zones *and* to force them on others. Planning stuff is fine, sharing it is great, but don't get pissed off when someone who is not a part of the council does not bend to meet your demands.

You cannot force someone to sit around while you wipe out 5 times. Most powerful guilds will gladly give a lower guild a shot at a boss if they were there first, sometimes they will even help. I have personally helped lower guilds take out bosses like the Vindicator. But do not think that you are guaranteed the first attempt at something just because it is on a calendar somewhere.

The enforced EQ rule is called "First in Force" meaning the first guild that has the right people there to do something cannot be jumped and KSed by another guild while they are working on killing the stuff in the way. This also means that if guild A does not have enough people for something, guild B that does have the numbers may engage the target.

The exception is for events where killing a certain creature spawns another one. The guild that kills the trigger gets first shot at the spawned target.

In summary, it is a free world, and while generally people will try to work around others' schedules, the rules still apply.

Feel free to discuss this.

As soon as I become lvl 20 I'm going to get the ball rolling on my guild. Would it be allright if I attended the meeting just to get a sense of the way guilds will be working together on Al'Kabor?
