I haven't seen this behaviour before. It sounds to me that you are missing some of the texture files from the installation, specifically pot_selector.tga, or that you have an out of date version of the EQUI_Animations.xml file. I would suggest temporarily moving the EverQuestLP / game / uifiles / poweroftwo folder to the desktop and grabbing a fresh copy and seeing if that fixes the issue. If not, PM me and we'll work through what is wrong.

2) The chat windows with no labels - I like it, but how do I move the windows? Without the headers all I can seem to do it change the window sizes?

This is unfortunately a feature of the EQMac UI. Any window that has no title bar but is resizeable can only be moved by resizing it in the direction you want it to go. You can temporarily use the chat_withtitle optional version till you get them where you want them then swap back to the chat_notitle version when you are happy.

Have fun playing with the other optional files (be careful to check the readme files if you are trying the 16x16px minibuff window).

Oh, and good luck in the "Miss Cabilis 2010" Finals. All the judges are using the POWEROFTWO UI and look more favourably on contestants who do too.

I do exactly what Maktub is saying above. I temporary copy and put all the windows exactly where I want them to go and then camp, copy the original powerof2 file back and when I start the next time everything is where I want it. I also copy that character's UI and name it UI_Default.ini so when I create a new character (or a current character) I just copy the default to the desktop, rename it to the new character's name, then put it in the EQ folder.

Therefore after you do the chat_withtitle option one time you are finished moving windows around for the other characters if you use the same type of UI for each character, which I do.

Does this run any better or worse than the default UI or is it no difference performance wise?

It should run MUCH better than the default UI - I drastically reduced the texture overhead, removed on-the-fly scaling and redundant animations.

The development of the POWEROFTWO UI is now CLOSED for the following two reasons...

1. I am finally happy with the UI and want to leave it where it is. Version 2.00 is FINAL.

2. I have stopped playing EQMac and Maktub so will not be spending any more time online to spot potential improvements to the UI. If you see something you want to change, feel free to do so yourself.

It will continue to be hosted on my site and also the ZIP version is now available on EQInterface as a permanent alternative download location.

=============================

POWEROFTWO primary site : http://www.dcoffey.co.uk/poweroftwo/index.html

POWEROFTWO alternative download : http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fi ... hp?id=6071 (ZIP only)

=============================

Have fun using the UI and I am glad to have made a useful contribution to the server during my 5 months here.

Thanks for all you've done, Maktub. You've contributed more in 5 months to this server than almost anyone. /bow

I have a question: how did you get rid of the character name from the EQUI_PlayerWindow?

Another question....

For those of us who *mostly* like the default interface but wouldn't mind if it were faster...

How hard would it be to make a PowerOfTwo version that mostly looks like the default interface, but with the types of performance improvements you get from Po2?

I don't have a minimalist machine and don't need a minimalist UI. The departure some of the windows take from the default is just so extreme, and I don't really want to change my perspective that much to handle it. Hey, I'm old, old dog, new tricks. You understand.

I would really prefer a spell book that mostly looks like the default. Similarly, I'm used to the spell icons, I'm used to the buff window.

Now, there are certainly tweaks I like. I like the new version of the hot buttons box, although I don't need a lot of the "clutter". I don't need my AC and other stats on the front page all the time.

I like percentages alongside mana bars and HP bars. I've also seen them done so they were on overlaid with the gauge they're associated with -- right on the middle of the bar -- and I like that, too.

I like Utdaan's Loc window (see the other thread with my updated copy).

Download Power of Two 1.0... it is just a default replacement.
