I've seen far too many people turn in a PvP note to the priest of discord. Al'Kabor is not a PvP server! If you turn in that book the following will happen:

- You will be able to fight against the other 10 people who also tragically turned in their books. Hooray!

- You will not be able to be healed or buffed by anyone who is not PvP, i.e: the rest of the server.

- You will essentially be useless in a group, guild, or raid.

- There's no way to go back unless a GM takes pity on you.

If you've gone PvP without realizing the consequences, try petitioning a GM to change it back. Going PvP on a non-PvP server is not an alternate or more dangerous way to play EQ, it will simply ruin your character.

All you need to know about PVP enabling and why NOT to do it ! Click Here.

Mind you EQ Macintosh does not have PVP servers so the last option in the article is not available to you, unless you run EQPC.

Have you turned your in and want to reverse it?

Petition the GM

PvP players wishing to turn off their PvP flag must petition a GM for an appearance of the Priest of Order and undertake a level dependant quest.

Be aware - if you log off for more than 2 hours your petition will be removed for the petition queue and you will need to repetition. How ever if you freeze or crash and log back in within the 2 hour time limit, you do not need to repetition.

In addition to the food, drink, note, and weapon that may be in your inventory, you should also possess a Tome of Order and Discord. You can choose to give this tome to the Priest of Discord, who should be somewhere in your town.

sso does this mean my characters are broke, ive not once seen this tome. they start with the bread water note and weapon only.

I believe they changed it (PC side) so that you need to talk to the Priest in order to get the Tome.

If you talk to a priest of discord, he hands you a book and says "Hand this back to me if you want to be able to fight other players."

You might think, "That sounds fun!"

but once you do, you are unable to be healed, buffed, etc, by players who are not "red" (PvP)

Its a fundimental bad design of EQ, and I don't know why they haven't removed the priest of discord from normal servers.

they give you a huge warning on /follow, they should put the same hot red warning like WARNING YOU ARE ABOUT TO CHOSE TO BE PVP, THIS ALLOWS YOU TO... all in caps and such just like follow. do they even do this for the priest, it sounds like they dont, but this would make it better to prevent people from making a mistake and having to reroll. on the other hand, i doubt many people make it past level 10 being pvp before they realize what went wrong, just bad news to newbies who make it near 30 and finally find him. i guess it just pays off to explore thoroughly. oh yeah, and to read up on forums ;)

'Cause he's good exp.

BTW, a level 15 druid can get the PoD killed. At least in Greater Faydark and only till he respawns.

Not telling you how, gotta figure that one out.

The only way I've ever heard of a low lv char getting the PoD killed there is something like this.

A) Whack pod.
B) Pull to guards.
C) Guards kill your attacker; in this case, PoD.

Would that work? Not sure if those guards are strong enough. Maybe it's Holly Windtsalker in QH that I'm thinking of.

i thought guards attack specific creatures. sometimes guards wont attack bandits or such because they are human. what im refering to is using the monk quest in qeynos and making one of the guild monks attack the PoD, then phin sees that a fellow monk NPC is being attacked and he kicks in. you can get most of qeynos killed this way as long as phin is near. go look him up on allakhazam, many people post about it there.

Clay got it right but you won't survive the PoD's hits without a certain tactic. But basically, that's it.

Your faction with the guards is greater than the PoD's factions so the guards assist you. Of course you need to survive a few hits in order for the assist code to kick in and that's not easily done.

I've never seen a single player with a red name. My friend turned in the tome and nothing happened. So I think there can't be PvP characters on a normal server, and the PoD is a meaningless figurehead in Al'Kabor.
