200$ and have another Gig of RAM in the mail for 40$.

It is an Apple eMac G4 1.42ghz 512 80GB COMBO Tiger iLife
ATI Radeon 9600 64 MB.

Will this be able to run 2 accounts, or is it shameful to try?

And of course 6 months ago I put a 3.2 gig quad core and 8800 NVIDA GTX card in my PC. Now the nostalgia of Everquest is dragging me back. Hadn't played EQ for years, but loaded it up just to see how many accounts I could go on without slowing my zone times. This MAC should be different.

EDIT: Here's the link.

Well it is not super high tech and it is not an atari so I can't vote. It will be useable. I don't have one so not sure about 2 boxing it but general thought it seems is it will be a good 1 box machine but will have to spend some time tweaking it to get it 2 boxable.

I didn't think you were going to 2box through my PMs.

I still think it will run fine for 2boxing, but I would definitely recommend buying another gig of RAM for that eMac if you plan on 2boxing.

The eMac should run 2boxing just fine with 2 GBs. It has a decent processor, a good graphics card, and with 2 GBs of RAM, 2boxing with eqmac should be easy as long as you don't expect to raid with high settings or anything like that.

200 dollars on that eMac is not a bad deal when you consider that it comes with Tiger, iLife, and a warranty.

I have an emac, 1.25 ghz, 1gb ram, Radeon 9200.

I found the performance to be inadequate, and that was with 1 char, on the lowest settings possible (except i think i used 800x600 instead of 640x480). Raiding was not fun with this machine.

I hope you have better success,

Depressing news.

Computer should be here in a couple of days. I'll let you all know what happens.

You also only have a 32MB video card. The OP's system will out perform yours hands down.

You should be just fine with that 1.42 GHz emac. Just max out the RAM.

Emac 1.42Ghz is fine. It's what I run with -- but I upped it to 2GB of RAM. Runs great and and is raid-wrothy.

As noted the 1.42 has teh 64MB card - which combined with 2G of RAM is a huge difference.

Don't be depressed :-)

Its good to know that the 240 spent wasn't a total waste. I'll order another stick of RAM. I do appriciate the feedback guys.

I am no longer going to slit my wrists~ =D

And is dual booting a hush hush topic here?

Nah, dual boxing is allowed. That eMac should dual box just fine with 2 GBs of RAM if you turn the settings down just a little bit.

just so you can get an idea

Powermac G4 Dual 1ghz 1.5GB Ram
64meg vid card

can 2 box at 1920x1080 on one screen with no lag and all stuff turned up in old world. Lagged slightly in pok with both characters but its not even noticable unless you run in a circle

Going to see how bad it slows down when i hook up my second monitor

But i will say that 64MB vs 32MB is HUGE as my other mac has a 32 and it cant box at all with the settings i use
