Howdy - I've been on Al'Kabor like a week and I've finally gotten my Shaman to level 17. It's been tons of fun, and I think I've been fairly effective with my rotation and playstyle thus far; but I've got a lot of spells scribed now, and I'm having a difficult time deciding what combination is most effective to keep memorized.

For soloing, I memorize all of my buffs, buff myself, and then rearrange my bar with a Root, two debuffs, a heal, a temp str increase, a nuke, and usually two buffs.

For grouping, I do roughly the same thing, but I avoid meleeing and focus primarily on debuffing. I'm having a tough time keeping everyone buffed and everything debuffed - whats a good way to facilitate that? I've been using the overhead camera so I can make sure I get everything.

I'm a total scrub with a nice hammer someone gave me and some chain armor I found on a PoK merchant. Teach me to Shaman! What is my role? How long / how well can I solo? What equipment should I use, what stats should I focus on? What're my best spells?

Doublethanks and a half to anyone who responds. :D

Shaman website is http://crucible.samanna.net/index.php

Not sure why these forums don't link to the class websites, but everything you'll ever need to know is on there.

Hey Welcome,

I saw you out there in Alliance land. One thing you can do when buffing without group buffs is.. at the start of your group cast the buffs you are giving to yourself first before getting them to your group mates. This way you can stay ahead of fading hastes etc.. on your groupies. It really is delux when the buffs come in without sending a tell

And no I don't know what timers are :) Which perhaps is a much better way to do it.

With that stellar "help" you will be the best shaman around no doubt!

Probably one of your most important debuff, will be slow. At lower levels I can't imagine many fights going on long enough for you to cast any cripple, malo, or whatever else you shammies use. Like mentioned before, buff yourself first before any others, that way you know when the buffs on your group are fading. Keep the melees hasted with the hp/str buffs and you should be fine. Agility/Dexterity buffs are nice too, but the lower level stat buffs don't really last long enough for it to be worth it IMO. I'd rather my shaman save his mana for a dot or a slow in the long run.

Keep the mobs slowed and the melee's hasted, you should be ok.
