From EQMac Moderation Policies:

Quote:
Our philosophy is: Don't stop people from having fun. If people are having a friendly flame war on the main thread, thats fine. If an ongoing "fluff" thread continues for a while... peachy.

So here are the informal rules on board moderation that we'll follow:

1) If a newly started topic is placed obviously in an incorrect forum, it will be moved as soon as a moderator sees it.

Example: A technical question in the guilds forum is immediately moved into the help section.

2) Threads will only be locked if they are outdated, or if we feel they harm the community as a whole. Long threads, even for the purpose of being long, are OK.

Example: A 12 page "whats your favorite candy" thread can stay, even though it clearly has nothing to do with EQ. Whereas the 12 page "Explain why you hate George Bush" thread will be locked.

3) WE HATE ADDING NEW FORUMS. I get 2-3 requests a week for a new forum idea. Usually, they're not a bad idea, assuming we had 30,000 visitors a day...

4) Off Topic, OOC and Fluff threads should be started in the OOC/OT forum.
