The news of the server shutting down 3/31 came out of nowhere... completely ruining our guild's ability to fulfill our goals... so I'd like to propose (or beg, whichever way you want to read this request), can we please all agree to NOT wake the sleeper until mid-late March?

Since this is the end of some of our EQ careers, especially those in Vintage, where EQ Mac is our last chance to relive the nostalgic great game it was... we would love the opportunity to see the Velious raids we haven't done yet (Sleepers Tomb, Cazic Thule, NToV). If it's worth anything, we've been farming ST keys and had a 4 month plan to start breaking into NToV, which we won't be able to do now...

I'll bring it up with our guild, but we will most likely open up our Wednesday and Saturday raids so the whole server can attend and we will beat all of the remaining content in the Velious expansion together. Vintage's rules on gear, spells, etc probably won't be a limitation anymore since we'll just want to beat the content, as a consolation.

*EDIT* The dates and times for our Open Velious Raids will be announced at a future date for targets that are out of our reach. For now, we are planning to finish the content we can with our ruleset as a guild.

I support this, FWIW. Please, community, don't be tools and wipe the sleeper randomly, let's have a big event for it near the end and make sure Vintage is there and ready.

Any thoughts on opening up guild membership?

My home has always been Dark Conquest on this server for a solid 2 years.

However, I would be willing to change my guild membership and join your band with any or all of my characters so I can assist / help you all in any fashion needed until the lights go out.

I have two keyed characters for ST as it stands and would be willing to assist farming keys/shawls/faction for any interested Vintage Members at a minimum.

It would be cool if the server could make a "list" and progressive dates leading up to waking the Sleeper that we can assist you all in completing Velious.

Perhaps silly, but maybe even putting a calendar together for a complete progression from Nagafen / Vox / Hate / Air through Velious and possibly Luclin content? With the exception of Emp and VT, pretty much everything can be done in a progressive fashion to include the entire community with a planned Sleeper waking at the end of it all.

I too hope the Sleeper doesn't get woken up, but I'll go farther and say I don't want it EVER woken up. If they do pull the plug, I'd like to see our Sleeper keep sleeping forever in cyberspace and in our minds. It's one of the things that made this server unique.
