I'm not new to the everquest games, however I am new tomacs and the mac edition of eq. I clicked the link to download the eqlp and when I go to open it the only thing that shows up is, a text file with a bunch of jibberish. I'm using firefox and it asks if I want to open the fie with the default program stuffit I click yes and all that shows up as I said before is a jibberish textfile. Any suggesions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got a copy of the free version of Stuffit from the apple site?

No worries, thanks though. I really want to be able to play eq I don't want to play WoW.

Can you confirm you have Stuffit installed on your Mac? It sounds as if the .sit file is being opened in a text editor instead of Stuffit.

Siri - I went through the same thing as a brand-new eMac user. It IS doable and there are specific guides here on this forum if you look around a bit... If I can do it anyone can!

When you get on, look for Camdog the Ranger in-game. I'm currently level 6 around the Qeynos Hills, Qeynos, and Blackburrow area.

Yes I have stuffit installed I just installed the one from the link provided here in the forum. And it still does the samething just opens a txt file.

OK after getting the eqlp to final load, I double click it and it does the Soe checking for upadtes. Then it shows and age rating screen and after that nothing happens. Thanks everyone so far for the help though you guys rock. Looking forward to getting on the game eventualy will have it all figured out.

Just waiting for Soe cs call caneter to open in the morning. So that I can set up a trial account hope it does not take long. A bit lame that they offer a game or services but you have to call to set up an account when all other soe products can be registered on the website.

Well evidently after all this hastle the videocard I have in my macbook is unsupported guess I will be installing eq on a windows pc sighs

Unsupported how? Please list your MacBook model and the type of video card. Most likely, you'll need to do something like turn off mipmapping (or turn on...whichever is opposite the default) or do a search on the word drawsprocket on this forum and look though there for tips. However, unless people know what you're running no one can begin to assist you.

I got no idea what that means. Very vague with little information. I haven't seen a macbook video card not work and I have several.

I'm assuming this is something a SOE PC customer support person told you and it is probably true that none of the PC listed video cards have any of the Mac's video cards listed and for that matter probabaly none of the Mac hardware is listed on it either.

I would also suspect that if indead the customer support person found a Mac approve listing of video cards that it would be one from 2003 or so since they don't seem to update anything for the Mac version.

Yes sorry for the vague information. That is what Soe told me. As best I can describe it the charectors load just fine but as far as the background like building trees and so on are all solid white looks like I am walking around on a snow covered zone
