Welp, I took the dive and installed Snow Leopard today. The only thing you need to know that isn't indicated on the install is:

1) When installing, choose 'Customize'
2) Install 'Rosetta' and whatever other options you would like
3) When it's done installing, launch EQ!

Unfortunately, Rosetta isn't installed by default. You may be wondering "What is Rosetta"? Well, the EQMac client was designed with PPC chips in mind, OS X 10.5 had Rosetta installed by default which is the emulator which allows PPC applications to run on Intel Mac machines. 10.6 does not include this installation by default which is why natively, it will not launch EQMac.

Selecting to install this during set up will remedy the situation. Alternatively, if you installed Snow Leopard and forgot to choose other options, you can drill down to the OS X 10.6 DVD and select the 'Optional Installs' package and install anything else you may have missed.

Enjoy and see you online!

Also if you don't "customize" and install rosetta, it will just ask you if you want to install if you try and run a PPC program after the update.

It will but it will ask you to update via software update. I tried that initially and it didn't download successfully. So I just used the one directly off the DVD instead of trusting the software download.
