Might i suggest May 2nd, 2004, 3pm PST, as a date and time for this first co-op RAID?

Well, for me anyway that would sound good.

Ok, May 2nd sounds good. I will put it on my guild website. What is our target? Will it be Ry'Gorr forts as we were discussing? If so, where will we be assembling? And who will be leading the raid? Bonham?

Hey Kirrmarr, you were gonna choose the sight and lead the first one remember? Gonna be ready on Sunday?

We still need to choose an exact time also.

Ok, I thought it was the other way around. I misunderstood that you guys had the first one and we would get the second one. OK, hmm, let's see. I am still thinking that working our way down into Split Paw seems like a good goal. I have some experience there and I have always wondered what is beyond those doors.

Let's do Splitpaw then.

I have been told that Ville is the new Raid Coordinator for Sanctuary. Please contact Ville and let him/her know before Friday who will be attending, if possible. Then could Ville post here and let us know about how many people from Sanctuary will be attending. The only classes I can see being an absolute requirement will be healers. I am certain we can get enough melee types.

I will post on my guild board to see who I can get to commit to this weekend.

I will do my best to make it too. :-)

I will be posting further details once I know if we will have a sufficient force and mix of classes.

I will definitly be there on the 2nd. Let's just make sure we take on something nice and juicy. As fun as the first co-op raid was, it felt like we were way too powerful to take on just one little camp of Ogres. I'm sure we're all up for a challenge! 8)

And what time? Have a few members that can participate only at certain times.

Thanks

I can commit to anytime on that day, I was wiating to see what the level of interest is before committing to anything in particular, but maybe 3pm PST.

I am looking at everyone meeting in the Karanas at the Antonican Nexus Portal. If any evil races show up, I understand they will have to swim across the zone line because of the guards.

I think you have a good idea, Uttama, but as this is my first raid, I wanted to work with something I knew a little about. Also, it will be a chance to see how much of a force we can muster.

BTW, has anyone who is interested in going actually been past the doors? I would like to have at least one person who can guide us past them. If we don't have anyone, I may have to get a Taruun or a rogue to scout ahead for us.

Dont forget i am a rogue, i can scout!

As for the day however, may not be able to do at 3. I work usually until 6 Central time on saturdays and sundays.

I would love to try and make it though.

I can do 5/2 3pm PST, so I'll be there.

I've been through the doors, but only just, so I don't think I'd be any help as far as navigation goes.

Re: the evil races. There should be someone around who can invis them for a trek across the bridge (if they can't invis themselves) to save a swim. Also, if they're getting a druid to port them in, they'll want invis already up. If I remember correctly, there are druids that will attack them at the ring (not to mention the Treants...or am I thinking of another druid ring? I don't get ported much so I could be misremembering).

This should be a really rewarding afternoon/evening. I'm looking forward to it!

Correct, at the NK druid ring there are usually one or two Treants, plus a whack of human druids in instant agro range who like to make evil pie.

Kirr, you know that's all I'm good for :)

Any later than 3PST and I may not be able to commit, since I've heard these things take like 4 hours just to move from the meeting spot and it is a "school night". Earlier would be better, frankly. But apparently some people have "lives" and "friends" and "families" and can't just sit in front of a monitor all day....

/confused

I can't really start much earlier than that due to this pesky physiological requirement called "sleep".

Unless you guys want to start at Saturday midnight PST! I'll be awake then. :)

I suspect the first hour will just be spent getting everyone together and organized into groups so anyone arriving late will still be able to make it, I bet.

Once organized, I will have each group go and zone and then wait for the rest to show up. Once all are in the zone, we move to split paw and get everyone buffed, then i will send a clearing team in to clean up the front entrance room, then everyone can start zoning in. Hopefully, we can fit everyone in the first room. Then clearing teams clean the next room. We all move, then we start towards the doors. I will have a scout count the mobs for us so we know what to expect, then we pull them all, dispatch of them and move beyond the doors.

At that point, its up to the scouts to keep us informed so we can find good med spots if we need them. If we have enchanters or pet classes that can help with crowd control, we will definitely be using them.

I suspect most groups will have at least one melee in it and one personal with healing capability, even if it is a ranger/paladin/beastlord.

Casters please be vigilant on buffs. Healers please do your best to keep people alive. Meleers (me included) lets make sure we keep the mobs interested in us.

I will probably only have two looters assigned, one from each guild. They will most likely be melee classes that are not main tanks for their groups. IF we come across any NODROP items, I want them to let me know by linking it in a raidsay. Only the classes/races that can use it will be rolling for it.

The rest of the loot will most likely be sold, unless it is a rare item, in which case it will be rolled for. After the loot is sold, the money will be split between the two looters and then each looter can distribute to their guilds as their guild requires. The two looters should be willing to do the selling and splitting outside of the raid time.

Any non guild members should ask for a fee up front or ask one or the other guild to be part of the cash distro. Any non guildie will be eligible for any rolled item, rare or NODROP.

Non guild members are characters that are not members of Sanctuary or The Frozen Poets of Velious.

Finally, during the initial setup, I will be making a list and checking it twice to make sure i account for all raid members. After the raid, I will post that list to ensure that both guilds are aware of who showed up. If your guild (my guild?) uses a raid point system, this should help facilitate that system. At the very least, the guild looters will know who is entitled to a portion of the cash.

Anyone have any other thoughts on this? Let me know.

Excellent, Kirr!. Questions:

1. Are we still a firm go for tomorrow?

2. Where is the official meeting and grouping spot that we should be at no later than 3 PST (6 EST if my math is right)?

3. Total amount of time in hours attendees should expect/be required to commit to?

4. Is someone assigned to take screenshots of my corpse and post them all over the internet?

5. Do we need to somehow let other guilds/people know we will be in there so we don't find another group has decided to go raid splitpaw tomorrow, or do we have a backup target? (See Lodi thread in Rants in terms of most ppl not reading EQMac, shocking as that is)

6. Just a personal question. Those with some raid experience, can you post any suggestions on dealing with the lag (I understand it gets really bad)? What changes to video settings, etc are really effective etc? I assume Sound Off is a big one...

sorry for all the questions, I'm a virgin
