Tired of typing? I am opening up one of my Ventrilo servers so people can chat it up while they play. Need to get old school EQ into 2009, for all you Xbox Live people and others who are used to headsets and gaming. Just setup your login with one of your toon names and have fun!

PC & Mac compatible

Host Name: sulfur.typefrag.com
Port Number: 7718

Just wanted to say is nice to see new people on my Ventrilo server. The server is open for anyone, and any guild to chat with others. A great way to actually speak with real people.

Have you considered running a Teamspeak server instead? Ventrillo for the Mac is notoriously unsupported (you can't set individual gain levels, for instance)...

However, in case you decide to continue using Vent, it is possible to normalize Ventrillo audio on a Mac. But you need to have Garage Band and download the Soundflower audio output plug-in.

On some Eve Online engagements that last for several days (different timezones play different shifts in battles) I have used Teamspeak. I will look into that. Primary reason for Ventrilo is that 99% of Eve residents are on PCs, so kinda forced me to use Ventrilo for the last year. Thanks for the suggestion Nik. Will post up a Teamspeak Server for people to try as well.

Oh man I hope not. That would kill the experience for me.

I recently rented a vent server for The Horde guild. Do other guilds not have some sort of VOIP? I was in a PUG group a couple of weeks ago in PoValor and three of the group members were using SKYPE for voice chat. EQ is challenging enough without having to stop what you're doing to type something important. VOIP is a natural enhancement to gameplay.

I like the suspension of reality that you get from not having voice chat.
