After trying to come up with ways to con my wife into buying a second PC,
so we could play PC EQ together, and coming up empty, finally w/EQMac
I was able to con her into getting into EQMac. :) (She has an iBook,
so she can play along w/my Powermac.. wohoo)

Anyway, I'm playing an Enchanter now.. I'm wondering what the best
combo is. I think ENCs go well with pretty much anything, just wondering
what people's experiences are.

It's looking right now that she's leaning toward a Druid, that will probably
be a good combo. At least she can snare some of my charms, etc. Not
to mention that a druid provides healing, SOW, etc.. etc..

(Of course, there's the fact that she'll look dead-sexy in a leather
Wood Elf outfit.. woof! )

Ooops.. I misspoke.. she has an iBook and a Powerbook.. she's going
to be playing it on her 17" Powerbook.

Not sure if it runs on the iBook, we didn't try. Anyone?

Runs great on my iBook 800 (32MB card).

As for ENC partner... Druid should be great. You've got heals, ports, SOW, and SNARE. Now you can add some better Fear kiting to your list of tricks (which doesn't work so well when enemies are running away at top speed).

If she's leaning towards Druid, then go for it.

I wonder if I could get it to run on the last G3 iMac that came out?
Anyway, I think anything other than a warrior would be good.

The main sticking point is going to be the video card. If it's got 32M of VRAM, you're in good shape. If it's less than that, you run into problems with texture compression support and an inability to load textures in some cases (resulting in untextured polygons of various colors).

Hmm I think those only had 16meg video cards and I remember people talking about that problem during the beta. Well, trying will never hurt.

I can answer that first hand. I played beta on a iMac Graffite G3. Yes, You can play but you get NO textures and some character textures. Everthing is white and hard to make out. (My first moment in the game I couldn't make out who was in front of me and got puched by my guild leader for 386 hp of damage putting me out in the Necktulos Forest with nothing. NOTHING! It took 2 weeks of begging to get my wife to let me play on her Titanium Bowerbook.)
Where was I? OH, yea! No names on buildings, no paths to follow and if you go to hunt in Shadeweaver's Thicket or your in PoK with a lot of people it lags like crazy. I still play in my newbie zone on my iMac G3, when my wife comp. isn't at home, because I have it memorized. But I try not to play with others when on the G3. I switch to my wifes Titanium when I want to play for real.

Simply put its not really worth it unless your desperate.

to the subject!

A good enchanter partner would be a Druid or a Bard , Snare is wonderful when you can charm things, haste them, etc.... I would go with the Druid though, would definatly be easier if this is the first time playing.

Definately a druid. My father and I used to use that combination on the PC servers... excellent.

Most caster classes are a lot more fun to play in a situation like this also, but the heals really make a difference. Plus, a druid is a bit more powerful than the other pure casters.
