I seem to be a bit annoying, despite what my intensions are. However I have another question

I have my Necro up to level 47 now, and am very efficient with her, but am looking to start building a baby shaman. Can you guys suggest some items that I can easily farm for? I also have about 2-3k plat I can part with and have no problem farming for more to buy armour but farming would be much nicer. My shimmy is going to be an iksar.

Another question; I can't PL her with my Necro can I?

I think FDing works. Load up mob with dots, FD, sham does 1dmg, gets exp.

Iksar can't use the jaundiced bone bracer. they also don't get Slam. Trolls suffer from neither of those problems.

Most people say go Ogre for shaman. Well most people say go Ogre for anything that can be an Ogre, by far the best starting stats. But the stun immunity really is great for a caster. You never have to worry about getting interrupted, which can be life saving.

For Iksar though they do get some great newbie quests, that end in fairly powerful items.

Which is a very weak snare.

Given he already is playing a Necro, that would be pretty unnecessary given he plans on boxing the two.

But yes HP regen is a large draw to Troll shaman. Also JBB but post 55-60 it is much less useful.
Ogres have frontal stun immunity which is nice if you intend on tanking on the shaman with Slows / HoTs it can be pretty useful.
Iksars have AC and Regen working for them.

Personally I'd go with Iksar or Ogre were I to make a shaman. Ogre is better during like... Kunark/Velious when slow tanking is very viable in highend content like Sebilis or Kael... IE if you were in a time locked raiding guild @ level 60. However PoP mobs hit pretty dang hard so even with slow you can't tank all that well without lots of AAs/raid gear.

A mid-level geared shaman can easily tank PoV golems. I'd go Ogre for the frontal stun immunity, perfect when you've got a mob trying to maul you over as you franticly spam turgur's.

I'm pretty much set on Iksar. Tanking is not something I plan to do with the shaman and that in itself is useful until what mid 30's?

I feel it will be more of a challenge to level the Iksar, and I'm prepared for that.

Does loading up the NPC with dots then FD work? Or would that not wipe mob agro since Nerada is still doing damage.

DoTing up and FDing works fine... however if the mob goes out of combat long enough and wanders away it can regen in bursts I think.

Tanking is effective into the 50s-60ish. However in BoT/Tactics/HoH and definitely Elemental planes a shaman cannot tank reliably.


However sadly, this server seems to have a safezone mentality to it, in that no PuG venture beyond Plane of Valor, which is really a shame, cause HoH / BoT / Tactics were all great zones for PuGs.

However, as a dark elf Necro, I get wailed on quite a bit, and I see shamans as a weaker doting necro with the ability to buff the creeping crud out of you so in reality, for me, it doesn't make that much sense. The AC bonus, and HP regen are more worth to me

I regret making my necro an Iksar for the very same reason, but I make due without it. Plus I think it would be neat to be fractionally challenged. If anything I'd go Vah Shir or Barb (especially Barb as they seem to fit the definition of a Shaman).

However so far, I'm guessing questing the shaman newbie armour or just the racial newbie armour in my home town is what I should be doing? What if I went to DSP and farmed acrylia armour for the shaman? Is that easy to tailor, or are there am abundant amount of tailors to make leather studded armour?
