Now that we have a working intel based client without need of Rosetta, any chance of getting a PC based client?

I have a mac that its sole purpose is to play eq mac, but I'd jump on quite a bit more if it were on my PC. I bet we'd see a good spike in population numbers if a PC client existed as well.

Lol, please, no? Why?

I'd love to pop up an instance of eqmac at Work, or various other uses for it. Having a PC Client would only help the server. There is a huge demand for how EQ mac is "stuck" in the PoP era. Possibly the best era to be stuck in, having a PC client would bring in countless new folks that don't want to deal with the EMU crowd. I think Al'kabors vetern players would welcome the new players as they have always been so supportive in the past. I know when I logged into Al'kabor I've enjoyed the server and community. It brought me back to the "Golden Era" of EQ, and I'd just like more people to experience it. I know many of my friends would love to join up, but don't like OS X or Mac Computers. (Which frankly I've never understood why PC users bash mac and Mac users bash PC, I think both serve there purpose.)

Because then it's only a matter of time until we start becoming a PC server.

I think SoE knows they will never update or release new expansions on Al'Kabor, its pretty obvious that it will never become a PC Server. I'm sure Hobart, and Utdean would head this off at the pass. I also read the PC forums and there is a huge push for a classic EQ type server that SoE could easily make Al'kabor. Hobart is already cleaning up the old bugs, and why not display Al'kabor to the 90% of the computer population that has PCs?

Its a wonderful server that should have more players. The population is a bit light and I think a PC client would give it the population that it deserves. I don't box and the downside to Al'kabor is the population.

Most who play here think it's only a wonderful server because of said population.

No. Just no. Not going to try to justify my opinion. Not going to argue anything. Just going to say no.

For me it is really a question of "no" or "hell no!". I choose the latter. My biggest concern would be macro quest popping up, but there are other things that would worry me too.

If the ONLY consequence of making a PC client was a population boost I would say YES. But the other possible consequences that other people have talked about scare me.

Wow, didn't expect so many No's, I thought it would help the server longevity, but I do agree with the one poster that said hacking programs could come in and ruin things. Didn't think about that, but it would be pretty awesome to have a cross-platform gateway to EQ that wasn't ruined by the hackers. Suppose Blizzard is the only one that can pull that off lol.
